Aunt Merilou and Isaac

Aunt Merilou (daddy's sister) and Isaac came for a visit last month.  It sure was great to see them again.  Here are some pictures of their time here.

Thank you for coming - we love you!!

Isaac liked our kittens - we told him he could take one home, but Aunt Merilou didn't like that idea. :)

Shenandoah was excited to have a swimsuit like Stasia!

Joshua's Birthday!

The end of June, we celebrated Joshua's birthday.  We had a lot of fun.  Here are a few pictures from the evening.

The sign kind of speaks for itself :)

After dinner, daddy, Joshua, and I went to move my beehives.  It turned out to be quite the adventure!!!

It took forever for us to get the trailer hitch to work on our borrowed trailer, we spilt almost a whole gallon of sugar syrup in daddy's car (you can imagine the mess!), had to come up with a different temporary location to move the bees to because it was too late to move them to the original one, and to top it off, lost one of the hives off the back of the trailer which we didn't discover had happened until we got to our destination!!!  We couldn't believe it!!!  The Lord was very good to us though and things weren't near as bad as they could have been.  We were able to recover the lost hive and it seems like it's going to make it, so I'm very thankful for that!

This is after we got the lost hive picked up and put back together!  Mr. Folgers let us use his pick up truck to go get it which worked out really well.  Special thanks to Joshua who rode in the back with the bee hive all of the way back to where we were keeping the hives!

Everything put back together, tied down (again :), and we were ready to depart!

Farmers Market

We've been pretty busy with our local farmers market this summer.  Between all the baking, labeling, and being there Saturday mornings, it takes quite a bit of time!  Here are a few pictures from one of our markets last month.

At the market, they all got horse rides!

After the market, daddy and the boys left to go up to Kansas City over night (they had to pick up a few things from our grandparents).  They had a fun "guy" time and we girls had fun too!  (Although for the record, even though it was just over night, we were very happy to have them home the next day!)
