Sabrina's 13th Birthday

March 19th was Sabrina's 13th birthday!!!  The 13th birthday is a very special birthday in our family.  It is when we have a special commitment to giving our hearts to daddy and receive our purity rings as a symbol of that.  We also have some other 13 birthday traditions as well.  Sabrina is such a wonderful blessing and help in our family and a very dear and special friend to me.
Happy Birthday Sabrina!!!  We Love You!!!
Sabrina

Sitting down to dinner.  Sabrina chose a unique (for our family) birthday meal... homemade pizza, asparagus and carrots!!!  Everyone normally gets to pick their birthday meal and quite frequently, it is roast beef, mashed potatoes and corn with homemade rolls!  I had a lot of fun trying out some new pizza crust recipes and Seth and Stasia helped me knead them.  The pizza turned out great.  Homemade pizza is a family favorite too. :)

Emergency Room Trips -Two Days in a Row!!!

Can you believe it?!!!  First, Stasia tripped, fell and cut her head open on one of our dining room chairs.  Then the next day, Seth was going down our driveway in a play car, flipped forward and gashed his chin open in two places and scratched his face open as well.  So, Stasia and Seth are sharing the great joy of being glued at the same time. :)  Thankfully, the ER trips went well both times and they are healing nicely.  (Note:  The reason why Mommy is hardly ever in the pictures is because she is the one typically taking all of them.)

Waiting to be seen.
Daddy was able to get away from work and meet Mommy and Stasia at the ER.

Stasia getting glued.

After her trip to the ER, daddy and mommy took her out for a "being a trooper" meal (plus, they hadn't eaten lunch yet! :)

Seth's Experience
Seth waiting to be glued (we actually thought that he was going to need stitches, but thankfully they were able to glue it instead).

A closer look at his chin.  His gashes were very deep!

Spring Is Here

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you?"

One Night at the Emmert's

One night, we drooped in on the Emmert's (after letting them know we were coming! :) to see how they were doing, visit and get some more milk!  Since our goats aren't milking just yet, we've been supplying the Emmert's with eggs and they've been supplying us with fresh milk and cream from their cow.  Its been great.

Planting Potatoes

Two weekends ago, daddy and my younger siblings planted potatoes.  We are trying a new method of planting them this year and are excited to see how it goes!!!

Sabrina Got Glasses!!!

Yes, Sabrina got glasses!!!  She has really been enjoying having them!!!

Trying them on for the first time.

Sabrina with glasses.

The younger ones all liked Sabrina's glasses so much.  They thought it would be fun to have some like her, so Sabrina made them glasses from pipe cleaners!!!

Dentist Check-ups

We had our 6 month dentist check-ups a couple of weeks ago.  Dentist appointments work out really well for us because they have several of us going at one time.  All six of us kids were done in an hour and 20 minutes!!!

Stasia got done first and went to watch Seth.

Shenandoah doesn't get her teeth cleaned yet :), but she was a little bit upset when it came time for my turn.  She wasn't sure what to think and wanted to sit on my lap!!!

A Visit To Relatives

Three weeks ago Mommy's cousin Frankie, who had ALS, died.  We left Friday do go to Kansas City and then on up to Omaha, NE Saturday for the family and friends gathering (they had this instead of a funeral).  We were very happy to see all of Mommy's extended family but sad of the circumstances.  We were able to spend some time in Kansas City and visit many of our relatives.  It was very nice to see everyone again!  Here are some pictures from our weekend trip.

We also spent some time with Uncle Todd, Aunt Moe and our other cousin Weston.
