An Evening Out

A couple of weeks ago, we went to the annual meeting/get together of our local Electric Cooperative.  We had a fun evening out as a family.

These men performed cowboy and gospel songs.

The kids went down front to watch.

Shenandoah really enjoyed it too!

Then, this man performed some interesting illusions.
Here he is "swallowing" fire.

They also blew up a giant balloon which he got inside of.

After that, they started putting children in there too.

More kids go in.

They had about 25-30 people in there!  They said the record was 40!!!

Another Hive of Bees!

I got a new hive.  I had to do a lot of fixing and cleaning out on the inside because it was pretty messed up.  But I (with the help of an older gentlemen who has bee keeping for thirty years) got them all taken care of.  They are extremely strong and very aggressive after all we had to do to them!!!

The hive.

You can see all of the frames we had to take out and replace.  We left them there so that the bees could regather the honey stores from them.

The Tea Party

The day of the tea party arrived!!!

Seth and Sayer at their table.

The dessert table.

Pouring the tea.

Getting everyone taken care of!

The ladies' table.

A different angle.

Serving the dessert.

After the tea party, everyone went out to see the goat kids.

Stasia and Josie.

Jamison.

Sabrina with one of the kids.

We let the kids get out.

Sienna, Jeanna, and Jamison.

When Shenandoah got up from her nap she was so happy to have a little person her size!

It was so cute to watch them!

Preparation For A Tea Party...

We had the privilege of hosting a tea party at our house with some friends of ours, the Evans.  Here we are preparing for it.

Getting ingredients ready.

I don't know when I managed to grow antlers! :)

Everyone helped with the chocolate covered strawberries.

Stasia really enjoyed helping and everyone else did too!

Seth helped Sabrina with the chicken salad.

The next morning, mommy snapped these rather amusing pictures of the boys trying to get all dressed up!
Time for a little gel (or maybe a lot!).  (Do you notice Sayer's outfit?  He had his coat tucked in and his belt over the top.  He was just sure that looked best! :)  We had to help him out.

Brushing...

Progress (I think :)

The Goat Kids

I've been delayed with the promised post of more pictures of our new goat kids!!  I've posted a couple new pictures below.  We've also decided on their names:  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.  Yes, we are thankful for the provision of meat that we will Lord-willing have in the future.  Since we already have enough males, we are going to hopefully butcher these.

Shenandoah is not too sure about the kids.

School-Day Recitations

Well, the title kind of speaks for itself!

Seth read a poem to us.

Us girls do handwork while mommy is doing our school reading with us.

Sayer playing with his army men.

Shenandoah.

Stasia doing her Bible memory verse.

It was my turn to do the day's poem.

Seth doing his Bible memory verse.

Sayer even had a turn - he is doing great on Psalm 23!
