Trip to Garmisch - Day One

The back seat - ready to go!!

A lovely misty view from the van

A village in the distance

The Enz River

The middle seat all fell asleep!!

Out the front

Out the back

Tons of tunnels - especially when we were in the mountains!!!

An interesting archway

Sayer especially enjoyed driving right by an airport and seeing some planes very close up!

On our drive we passed this church in Ulm -  it has the tallest steeple in the world and 768 steps to get up to it!!
(I didn't think it looked that high - until I realized how high we were on the highway!!)

Also in Ulm, from what we understand, this wall dates back to the Romans and is part of the original wall to the city.

Sisters

Some read aloud time

Beautiful!!!

Snow!!!

We liked this view from the van window of the Alps behind the church

We all enjoyed the breathtaking scenery

In which we arrive at the lovely place we stayed!!

We got a room in the main lodge which worked out great!!!

Across from the lodge and our view out the bedroom windows!!

Getting dark

Flags and mountains - the American flag is there because this is a US Army ran lodge and resort!

We unload...

Happy to be out of the van!!

Enjoying some dinner
