Alright, are you ready for a whirlwind tour of August in the life of the Cochran's?! I hope so!!
Wildfires and Time With The O's...
The O's stayed with us for a few days after being evacuated for the bad wildfires. One day we went back over to their house and were amazed by God's goodness - He turned the fire right in their front yard!
The bee hives were burned, but thankfully the bees were still there!! They got an awesome honey harvest this year - you should taste it - it's wonderful!
Having fun.
An adorable *ahem* handsome little goat farmer. :)
Time With The Sawyer's
The Sawyer family came for dinner one night and we had a good time of fellowship.
Of course Kemps was in store. :)
Mr. Sawyer and Daddy.
Our homemade "Cherry Berry" bar - thank you Sabrina!
YUM!!!
Time At The "Benderosa"
Time with the Bender's is bound to be fun!
They had us over for a delicious meal of Tacos!!
Cute little Tabitha!
Doing dishes together.
Don't mess with these guys!!
Grandma's Funeral and the Time Leading Up To It
Cousin Lori and her boys came and spent the night with us on their way to Kansas City.
Shenandoah and Marcelino had a lot of fun together.
All of us with grandpa Elder - I love this picture!
Daddy, Cousins: Gayle, Bobby, Lori, Aunt Merilou, and another cousin, Thomas.
We spent quite a bit of time with Daddy's side of the family. It was nice to see relatives that we don't get to see very often.
We'd heard so much about Cousin Corky who really meant a lot to daddy growing up. She lived with them for a while and was just like a sister. It was so nice to finally meet her!!
We also were blessed by some time with the Pentimone family - it had been too long since our families were together!! Thank you for letting us stay with you!!
Apparently the discussions got a little too heated though. :)
Good times.
Seth, David, and Sayer
Stasia and Ellia
Carissa and Sienna
Sabrina and Bethany
Amy and I
Catching up.
We were able to go to grandpa Cochran's grave for the first time. What a special time that was.
We finally got a picture of Faith and Shenandoah!!
Group shot of the girls.
We all went out to lunch afterwards.
A Triple F Night :)
Sabrina made peach cobbler and ice cream! We enjoyed it while watching some of a slideshow from our time in Europe.
Misc.
Summer in Oklahoma = thunderstorms!!
Cute little girls one Sunday at church.
Honey Harvest!!
You already heard of (and saw! :) some of our adventures from this day. Here are the "behind the scenes" shots!!
Seth was a great help trying to get the frames in the container to take up to the house WITHOUT as many bees as possible.
Popcorn to keep us going. :)
Let the extracting begin!
(complete with redmond clay to draw out the venom from the stings!)
Action shot!!
(Seth was really getting into it :).
Look at all those frames - what a blessing!!
Sabrina's turn at cranking
(It's not near as easy as it sounds or looks. Next year we're borrowing the O's extractor - you should see it - it's awesome!!)
Daddy to the rescue!! We were so glad to have his help once he got home from work.
The leaning tower of frames.
Warning: Sticky Zone.
Father/Son Retreat and Girl Weekend
Saying goodbye to our men folk - they had such a great time!!
Do you remember all the organizing and cleaning out that we did? We also had a play day in Oklahoma City!
Cold Stone Creamery.
We're a family of readers...
I failed to get many pictures (imagine that!), so the bags had to suffice to explain the rest of our day.
Going to Whole Foods and then having P.F. Chang's for lunch might be an oxymoron of sorts. It was a treat though!! :)
There are just some things you can't find at Wal-Mart.
Seth, Sayer, Logan, Luke, and Uncle Drew getting ready for the evening session - the boys loved being able to spend some time with their big cousins too.
At this point we're into September, but it's the same weekend so I decided to include it here! :)
Elana, Mrs. Hermling, Christina
We had some surprise company too!! It was so nice to be able to see them again as it had been since we lived in AZ!!
Group girl shot.
Showing them our animals.
What better way to end this post than with a most adorable picture of the cutest little girl in the world!!
(Okay, my opinion might be biased, but I'm entitled to that - she's my little sister :).
Note: Thank you to Carissa for sharing some of the pictures of our time in KC with me!!
